Joining the Phoenix Rugby Club is easy, and we're always looking for new players! We field multiple teams, affording the complete novice an opportunity to learn the game, while allowing the seasoned veteran to hone their skills in a competitive environment. In addition to playing good rugby, the Phoenix Rugby Club also offers an awesome social atmosphere. We boast one of the strongest Old Boy networks in the state of Arizona, and have many social engagements planned throughout the year. There are many ways to connect with the Phoenix RFC: - Just show up to any training session or match and introduce yourself.
- Contact any of the club officers via email or telephone for more information.
- Find us at Hazelwood’s, one of our club sponsors in Central Phoenix.
Average time commitment is 4 hours a week (2 trainings on Tue/Thur at 6:15) and 2-3 hours on Saturdays for matches. We understand everyone has busy schedules, so still come out if you can't make every training or match. If you are new to rugby, it doesn't cost much to put together a training kit. At a bare minimum, you should have a pair of cleats, sturdy shorts and shirt, and a mouthguard. The guys can give you recommendations on specific choices at training, so grab what you have and come out!
We're looking forward to meeting you!
Training during the season will start at 6:30pm. The season will start sometime late August early September 2010. We will be at the same facility as last year, the Squaw Peak Middle School (4601 N 34th Street, Phoenix, Arizona, 85018). Its north on 34th Street off of Campbell (campbell is between indian school and camelback) Summer training is as follows. Beginning 6/12/10 we will move the Saturday practices to 8:30 am at Shadow Mountain High. We will try and beat the heat! There will still be tip/touch at Chapparell Park on Sundays at 9AM and Wednesdays at 6PM.
