The Firebirds U19 Boys team have made it to the RugbyAZ Division 1 State Championship! They will face 4 time defending champs, Tempe Rugby Club.

Date: Friday, April 25.
Time: 7.00 pm kickoff
Location: Reata Sports Complex, field 17, in north Scottsdale.
9809 E McDowell Mountain Ranch Rd, Scottsdale, AZ, USA.
Field 17 is at the southern end.

You can also get there by plugging McDowell Mt Ranch Aquatic Center (15525 N Thompson Peak Pkwy, Scottsdale, AZ 85260) into the GPS and then taking the underpass under Thompson Peak Pkwy to get across to the fields and you'll be right at field 17.

We'd love to see a big crowd of Firebirds supporters at the match to cheer on the boys! This is the first time the Firebirds have made it to the D1 State Championship, having won D2 three times (2017, 2022, 2023).

Youth Rugby note: Unfortunately the Firebirds youth rugby division (U8 to U14) is currently dormant and we are looking for new leadership to take the program forward. Anyone interested in leading the youth program (administration as well as coaching roles are vacant and need filling for the youth program to be successful), please email us as phoenixfirebirdsrugby@gmail.com to log your expression of interest.

2025 Rugby Season Overview

SPRING SEASON

Practice resumes after winter break on Tuesday Jan 7. Match format is 15s for the competitive season.

Pre-season scrimmages: Jan 11, Jan 18
League home and away games: Jan 25 to April 5.
- Games to be played in various locations in Phoenix metro area as well as Flagstaff and Tucson.
Semi Finals: Apr 12.
Finals: Apr 25.

3/15 - Spring Break
4/19 - Easter

Practice Location & Schedule

Practice is on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6.15 pm to 8:30 pm for the season. Bring water, dress in cleats and rugged clothing like rugby kit for tackling and contact work.
